Home – Clay County Public Schools

There will be in-person school for ALL students in Clay County Wednesday, February 23, 2021. There will no longer be A & B groups (except for Preschool) for in-person instruction. Students that choose to remain completely online, will stay on their regular schedule for live meets. We look forward to seeing ALL of our students in-person tomorrow!

Students that do not have electricity need to contact their principal and extended time will be granted to complete online assignments. If you do not have a way to contact your school at this time, please do so as soon as your electricity is restored.

Clay County Public Schools will return to in-person instruction for all students on February 23-25, weather permitting.  Friday, February 26 will be all online for all students. Beginning Monday, March 1-4, we will be in-person (groups A & B) instruction and remain this way until further notice, with Fridays remaining online learning for all students. Pre-school will remain on their same A/B schedules, 2 days a week. Online learning 5 days a week is still an option for those students that choose to remain completely online.

This year, Family Resource Youth Service Centers across the state are being recognized during the month of February. The week of February 8th -12th is actually FRYSC appreciation week. Legislators are working on legislation to make the 2nd Wednesday of February of each year FRYSC Day in Kentucky. To celebrate this month we are asking that you please display a picture of the Logo  in your business, organization, church, etc and post pictures to Facebook using the hashtag #FRYSCStrong to recognize the dedication that these centers provide for our students and family every day. It shows the wonderful community connection and support that our Clay County FRYSC provides together to meet the FRYSC motto of “Whatever It Takes”. In Clay County, we have a resource center located inside each elementary school and also our middle and high school and a resource director available every day from 8:00 A.M. -3:00 P.M. or by appointments when necessary, you can contact any FRYSC director by calling your local school number. Thank you for all you do from Mr. Sexton, the board members and staff at the District Office.
