Hawk Creek and Sinking Creek suspension bridges were both damaged during the recent rain events that caused flooding and downed trees throughout the area. Currently, both bridges are impassable. When hiking the Hawk Creek/Sinking Creek portion %3ASection 24%3A of the Sheltowee Trace National Recreation Trail, individuals will need to wade through the creeks to continue along the trail. As a safety precaution, please do not try to cross any part of the remaining bridge infrastructures and always exercise caution when wading the creeks. Turkey Foot Campground is open; however, motorists are advised to use caution if traveling to the campground. Forest Road 4 and 345, leading to the campground, sustained substantial erosion in several areas from the heavy rainfall. While the road is not closed, low clearance vehicles may not be able to access Turkey Foot Campground at this time and should consider visiting other areas of the forest.
