Rice, Barrow take second place in Winchester

Youth golfers from Madison County continue to turn in solid performances this summer on the Bluegrass Golf Tour.

On Thursday, Haley Rice and Aubrey Barrow took second place in their age division in an event at the Winchester Country Club.

Rice shot a +15, 88, and finished two strokes behind Elivia Marcum (86) in the girls 15-18 year-old division.

Barrow (+36, 108) came up just one shot short of Caroline Chambers (107) in the girls 14-and-under division.

In the boys 12-14 year-old division, Richmond’s Reece Keaton finished third with a score of +25, 97.

On Friday at Eagle Trace Golf Course in Morehead, Rice fired a +15, 87, and finished second in the girls 15-18 year-old division.

On Wednesday at Wessinger Hill Golf Course in Shelbyville, Richmond’s Molly Neeley placed third in the girls 14-and-under division after shooting a +16, 88.
