Due to the forecasted ice storm, the U.S. Forest Service is closing Tunnel Ridge and Indian Creek Roads in the Red River Gorge In past ice storms, visitors have become trapped behind downed trees and response can be hampered by the poor conditions. As soon as the storm passes and roads are cleared, these roads will be reopened. As always, please "Know Before You Go," take care to learn about the forecasted weather conditions, and "Go Prepared." Over the next few days as our region experiences severe winter weather, please know that emergency services may be very busy and postponing a visit to your National Forest due to hazardous conditions may prevent an accident from occurring.
